My daughter was struggling to go to school because of her anxiety. She works through the Emotional Wellbeing 3-8 yr Workbook and is now attending school 5 days a week again. I cannot thank Fortitude Minds enough for helping my daughter with her self-esteem, anxiety and she has now learnt how to calm herself down.

I have been completing the Adult Healing Journal for 7 months now, it has helped to calm me down, learn to manage my feelings, deal with my divorce without taking my emotions out on the kids. I finally have a tool I can take everywhere with me for when I am triggered. It's my counselor in my pocket. Thank you for making me stronger and to finally believe in myself.

My son was struggling with his maths in year 1, I purchased the kindergarten workbooks to go back and teach him the basics. I would fight with him every night over homework, now he is excited to do the workbooks, and he understands it, the teacher is seeing the difference in class. He has gained more confidence. The tasks are easy for kids to understand and are fun. Completing the literacy book his handwriting has improved and so has his reading as it teaches the basic fundamentals to teach kids to read. He now knows the difference between B and D

I purchased the adults healing journal
after my divorce because I wanted to
heal and deal with my trauma in private,
I couldn't afford psychology. I do this in
my own time; it has given me my
confidence back after 14years of
domestic violence abuse. I am stronger,
happier, have boundaries and I can be
present for my kids. When I am
triggered, I go in my room and work
through the workbook and I instantly feel better.

I was getting bullied at school. My mum brought me 8-15 yr Emotional workbook. I come home from school and do it. It helps calm me and understand what the thoughts in my head are. It helps me when I have had a hard day at school. I notice a big difference now when I am at school, I know how to deal with the problems without losing my temper and getting in trouble.

The keynote address was delivered by Joslene Abboud of Fortitude Minds. A survivor, Joslene spoke of her experience before initiating activities for the participating students.
In an interview with participating students, they were unanimous in praise of the speaker, Joslene Abboud. They said that hearing the story of a survivor brought the issue of DV much closer to them and increased their understanding of the reality of DV. Also included by the students was the importance of the police presentation, particularly about the incidence of DV in their community.
In terms of new learning, all students spoke of learning about forms of DV (eg: coercive control, emotional, etc.) that were previously unfamiliar to them.
Asked if they felt better equipped to respond to disrespect towards themselves or a friend or family member, the students felt that the forum had better prepared them for such a situation.
